Jaguars vs Steelers: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Sunday November 18th, 1:00 pm (ET)
TIAA Bank Field
The Steelers, coming off a 52-point explosion, travel to Duval to face off against the spiralling Jaguars, currently riding a five-game losing streak.
No Lev Bell, no worries. Pittsburgh is coming off one their best games in recent memory. The Carolina Panthers were supposed to be real contenders in the NFC, and Pittsburgh toyed with them, and then dismantled them in week 10. Big Ben was the true star in the triumphant victory, tossing five touchdowns to zero interceptions, while only allowing three pass attempts to hit the ground. Pittsburgh did endure a scare, as James Conner entered concussion protocol following last week’s game, but the news out of Pittsburgh is that Conner will be good to go come Sunday.
The Jaguars are coming off another loss, and while the return of Leonard Fournette did wonders for fantasy owners (27.9 points in ppr, thanks to two touchdowns) he did little to rejuvenate the league’s 26th ranked offense. Fournette averaged a messily 2.2 ypc last Sunday, and may continue his struggles this week vs. a defense that ranks 8th against the run.
The Jaguars once-tantalizing defense has become a shell of themselves, surrendering three touchdown passes in back-to-back weeks. Might as well mark that down for a third consecutive week, as Big Ben and his Steeler offense is hitting on all cylinders.
Score prediction: Steelers win 34-24
The average score difference in the Steelers past five games, all victories, is a whopping 16.8 points. In that time span the Steelers haven’t won a game by less than seven points. Jacksonville’s five game losing streak has had a score difference of 14.2 ppg. Jacksonville kept only one game within six points.
Pittsburgh topped this over/under on their own just one week ago. Pittsburgh ranks 4th in the NFL, scoring 31 ppg. Jacksonville should continue to improve offensively the more Fournette gets settled into his role. With Fournette back in the lineup last week, Jacksonville scored more than 25 points for only the third time this season.
