Two Champions League clubs face each other as they drop down into the Europa League for the knock out rounds.
Galatasaray disappointed in their Champions League group – winning just one game of the six and scoring just five goals along the way. The point they got at home to Schalke sneaked them into the Europa League where they now face Benfica in what will be a real test for the Turkish side.
Benfica did well to win 4-1 in Thessaloniki to beat PAOK and get through to the Champions League group stage so will also be disappointed with their performance – only winning one of their three home matches. Finishing third means that they must travel to Istanbul to face the Turkish giants – and a point would be a great result for the Lisbon side.
Domestically Galatasaray started brightly but have fallen away somewhat in the last few months – and although they are still second in the table, there is a gap between them and Istanbul Basaksehir at the top. The fans are desperate for more European glory but this tie is a tough one – even if they may well get a narrow win in the first leg.
Benfica are again involved in the customary title race at the top of the Portuguese league – battling with Porto this year for national domination. But a run in the Europa League would be a huge lift to the club. An away match in Istanbul is never easy however and this could end 2-1 to the hosts.

- Both teams to score
Both these clubs have enjoyed some big wins domestically over the past few weeks so that suggests that the strikers are full of confidence going into this tie.
