Eagles vs Giants: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Sunday November 25th, 1:00 pm ET
Lincoln Financial Field
The Eagles are coming off the worst loss by a defending Super Bowl champion in NFL history, while the Giants are undefeated since their week nine bye.
The Eagles have dropped three of their last four games, and are coming off a humiliating 48-7 route at the hands of the Saints in week 11. The loss of Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles in the backfield has caused the run game to deteriorate in front of our eyes. The acquisition of Golden Tate at the trade deadline was applauded by many, and thought to be able to add a spark to the Eagles offense. While Tate did improve on his first week’s production in a Philly uniform, the addition of Tate to the offense has left Nelson Agholor, the former occupation of the slot, essentially position-less. Agholor, who played almost exclusively from the slot prior to Tate’s arrival in Philly, ran nearly all his routes from the outside receiver position last Sunday. In return, Agholor was held catch-less for the first time since 2016.
Are the Giants still alive? Theoretically, yes, and it may not be as far fetched as one would think. If Dallas can defeat Washington on Thanksgiving Day, and the Giants handle their business vs. Philly this week, the Giants would be just two games out of first place in the division. The Giants then get the chance to face off with both Dallas and Washington, the two teams ahead of them in the standings, in the final five weeks of the season.
For all the flak Eli Manning has endured from the media this season, he’s actually on pace to put up career bests in nearly every single season statistical category. Eli has tossed five touchdowns to zero interceptions since returning from the bye week. In contrast, Carson Wentz is coming off a zero touchdown, three interceptions game, and has thrown at least one interception in three consecutive weeks. Defensively, the Giants forced four interceptions to Tampa Bay quarterbacks a week ago. New York is essentially in must-win mode throughout the rest of the season, and should be able to hold off the Eagles as they strive to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Score prediction: Giants win 27-23
The Eagles are a complete mess. To favor a team by this many points, coming off the type of performance they put on display just a week ago, is a head scratcher to say the least. Philadelphia’s secondary is riddled with injuries. The Giants will attack Philly’s weakened back end with the likes of Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram.
The Eagles surrendered more points on their own a week ago (48) than the combined over/under for this week. The Giants put up 38 points in last Sunday’s contest and are averaging 32.5 points since returning from their bye week.
