Chelsea head to the Ukraine with one foot in the last eight thanks to a 3-0 home win that surely Kiev can’t come back from…can they?
There have been many highs and lows for Chelsea fans over the last 15 years or so and plenty of lows this season too.
However, despite the turbulent times, in the Europa League, the Blues have looked calm and composed and never more so than when dispatching Dynamo Kiev 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in the last 16 first leg.
That result thrust the Blues right up in the betting with online betting sites to lift the title which if they were to do it, would mean it would be two wins from their last two Europa League competition appearances after lifting the trophy in 2013.
However, one stumbling block for Chelsea is that they have never won a competitive game in the Ukraine and drew 0-0 with Kiev the last time they met, back in 2015 in the Champions League group stage.
A low scoring affair looks to be on the cards once again as the Blues have conceded only four times in the competition this season including keeping back to back clean sheets in the Europa League.
The Blues do not need to score meaning a plethora of stars will be rested and Kiev may view the tie as a lost cause with the task of attempting to chase down Shakhtar Donetsk in the league deemed a worthier task.
Expect a repeat of the sides stale 0-0 from 2015 to keep the Blues happy and see them progress to the last eight.
