DAL Cowboys at PHI Eagles: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Sunday November 11th, 8:20 pm ET
Lincoln Financial Field
The Eagles are now a single game behind Washington for first place in the NFC East, while the Cowboys are coming off a disappointing loss on the national stage, with a total rebuild looming.
The Eagles return from a bye week flying high. They seemed to put it all together overseas in their London game two weeks ago, as Carson Wentz tossed three touchdowns, and connected with nine different receivers on the day, including one completion to himself! Josh Adams gave the run game a much-needed boost, touting the rock nine times for 61 yards, a 6.8 average. Oh, and if that’s not good enough, they acquired one of, if not the leagues best, slot receiver in Golden Tate from Detroit at the trade deadline.
Speaking of trade deadline moves, it looked like Dallas hit the jackpot last Monday night, when Amari Cooper scored a touchdown on his first drive as a Cowboy. Unfortunately, that was the bright spot in Dallas’ ultra disappointing night. They struggled defending what is the league’s 30th ranked offense, an offense that is only two weeks removed from being shutout. While Tennessee’s offense surprisingly impressed, Dallas’ offense was not so surprisingly bad. Dallas once again struggled to get the ball in the hands of their best player. Ezekiel Elliot’s last carry came with 4:32 left in the 3rd quarter, and he only touched the ball once (1 reception) in the 4th quarter.
Darren Sproles is expected to return to the Eagles lineup this week, and will likely impose a matchup mismatch from the get go. Dallas struggled keeping tabs on Tennessee’s version of Sproles, in Dion Lewis, a week ago. Lewis totalled 122 yards and a touchdown on 23 touches. Dallas is close to implosion mode, as even the highest-ranking Dallas truthers seemed to have jumped ship after the team’s abysmal performance on Monday night. The Eagles, on the other hand, are gearing up to put their foot on the pedal, and are not planning to ease off until they’re raising another Lombardi trophy.
Score prediction: Eagles win 31-17
The Cowboys are on a two-week run of scoring in the teens, and the addition of Amari Cooper does not mask the true liabilities in the game of Dak Prescott. Philly has to zone in on one Cowboy to stop, and that’s if Dallas is even smart enough to give him the ball. The Eagles offense is close to reaching explosive heights, as Carson Wentz continues his MVP caliber play.
Philly has scored 25 points a game over their last three outings. To help bolster the unit even more, Darren Sproles and tackle Lane Johnson return to the lineup, while Golden Tate makes his debut. Carson Wentz has thrown for either 300 yards or three touchdowns in all but one game he has played in this season. Anything that Dallas’ offense adds to the scoreboard is just a plus.
