Crvena zvezda vs Paris: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds

Stadion Rajko Mitic Belgrade
Match day five results have turned this group into a world of possibilities with every team fighting for points.
Red Star’s victory over Liverpool on match day four gave the Serbian side renewed hope and although they cannot qualify for the next round of the Champions League, the Europa League knock out rounds are a possibility. A win here – and a Liverpool defeat at home to Napoli – would see them through.
A win for Paris Saint-Germain in Belgrade would see the French side qualify for the next round at the expense of either Napoli or Liverpool. PSG have only lost one game in the group so far and will be favourites going into this match thanks to the huge array of talent their squad possesses.
Red Star may have shipped 13 goals in just five Champions League matches this season but they have mostly come away from home. In fact, the Belgrade club are unbeaten at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in all competitions this season and will be hoping that that advantage will help them get the points they need to carry on their European adventure.
PSG only recently dropped their first points of the season in Ligue 1 but it is on the European stage that the club rate themselves and their wealthy owners want nothing less than the big prize when it comes to the Champions League. Whether that will happen this season is another matter but they could come away with a 3-1 win here.
- Both teams to score
Red Star have to win to get into the Europa League so will need to score – and PSG always find the net so both teams to score should really have shorter odds with the Canada’s betting sites.
- Cavani to score first
With so many huge stars in the squad it is the likes of Mbappe and Neymar who get all the attention but Edinson Cavani has consistently scored for PSG and could well get the first goal in Belgrade.

Head to Head
PSG’s 6-1 demolition of Red Star on match day two was the first time these two soccer clubs had ever faced each other.
- Red Star have now gone unbeaten in eight European home matches. Arsenal were the last team to beat them in Belgrade in their Europa League group match last season.
- Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this season. But Neymar is the player who has had the most attempts on goal.
- Red Star have only won one of their 13 matches against French opposition – drawing four and losing eight. The lone victory came against Metz in 1999.
- It maybe only recently that PSG have made the headlines for the vast amounts of money they have spent on their players but it was 1995 when they last made it further than the Champions League quarter final.
