Colombia vs England Predictions
Colombia and England have been drawn together in this final round of 16 match and both sides will be keen to progress. Switzerland or Sweden await in the quarter-final and this looks like a decent opportunity to make it through to the last eight. Colombia finished top of a competitive-looking Group H and were victorious in their final two matches. They suffered a blip in their opening fixture but look dangerous coming forward and relatively solid at the back. England hit eight goals in their first two World Cup 2018 games but their second-string side couldn’t find a way past Belgium. This match could be nip-and-tuck and we may require additional time to separate the pair. The draw is available at 3.18 with Bodog.
Colombia vs England Preview
Jose Pekerman’s side look well-drilled and they have yet to concede whilst playing with eleven men and have shipped just a single goal from open play. They also possess plenty of flair in the final third and will be relying upon the likes of Juan Fernando Quintero and Juan Cuadrado for creativity. They came through a potentially tricky Group H and they will fancy their chances of progressing in this tie. They were excellent at the 2014 World Cup and they should not be written off here. Yerry Mina was Colombia’s hero against Senegal and he is searching for his third goal of the tournament. England will have to ensure he is marked carefully from set-pieces.
England finished behind Belgium in Group G but have arguably secured themselves an easier passage. Gareth Southgate’s side were impressive in their opening two games before the head coach made sweeping changes for the third group game. Harry Kane is likely to return to the starting XI and he will come up against his Spurs teammate Davinson Sanchez. The Three Lions struggled to create chances against the Red Devils and Marcus Rashford was guilty of wasting their best effort. A full-strength England side could be difficult to stop here.
Both Teams to Score Prediction
This game doesn’t look destined to be a high-scoring end-to-end 90 minutes but it will certainly be absorbing. Both sides will look to manage the game and it could swing either way. England haven’t recorded a clean sheet at the tournament yet after conceding in all three of their Group G games, whilst Colombia have netted in all three of theirs. Some wasteful finishing from Senegal prevented them from getting on the scoresheet and England are far more clinical in the final third. Both Teams to Score? Yes is available at 2.15 with Sports Interaction.
Colombia vs England Correct Score Prediction
There shouldn’t be much between these sides and just one goal separated the pair when they met in an international friendly in 2005. There is plenty at stake and both sides will be desperate not to give too much away in the first half. It looks set to end all square and a 1-1 draw is a realistic outcome. It can be backed at 5.67 with Intertops.
