Chelsea look to strengthen their push for Champions League football with three more points at home to West Ham.

Chelsea have not been playing very well recently – and there is a growing number of fans that are calling for Maurizio Sarri to lose his job. But the west London side are still pushing for European qualification and should be too strong for a very inconsistent West Ham side.

West Ham are comfortably in mid table now with no worries about any kind of relegation battle coming up. But this season has been frustrating for fans and players alike – one week looking really good, but mostly not performing when it matters most. The away fans would really enjoy three points at Stamford Bridge but most of the sports betting sites will have fairly long odds on that happening.

Chelsea have a Europa League spot all but assured already but they will feel that qualifying for the Champions League is not out of their grasp given the points totals of clubs around them. Three points against West Ham is vital if that is to be the case and if they play the football that they are able to, then that should be the outcome here.

West Ham have not won a match away from home since just after Christmas last year and even with Chelsea’s form this season it would seem unlikely that they will be able to break that run at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea might make it tough for themselves but they should end up winning this – possibly 2-0.

Betting Tips

Chelsea to win to nil

Chelsea have struggled this season under their new head coach but should be able to win at home against West Ham – and a clean sheet is definitely possible.

Total goals by under 2.5

Many pundits will feel as though Chelsea should be able to get a few goals against West Ham but the belief doesn’t seem to be there a lot of the time and a smaller victory of margin is a distinct possibility.

Head to Head

Chelsea have not enjoyed this fixture in recent years and have not won at Stamford Bridge since 2016. The game at the London Stadium earlier in the season ended 0-0.

  • Eden Hazard is undoubtedly the main man at Chelsea – not only is the Belgian midfielder the top goal scorer at the club; he also has the most assists.
  • For two passionate clubs, the players of both sides have been fairly well behaved this season. West Ham have received only one red card in the league – whereas Chelsea have had no one sent off all season.
  • Only Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has hit the woodwork on as many occasions as Marcos Alonso this season.
  • It may say something about the West Ham defence but Lukas Fabianski has made the most saves of any goalkeeper in the Premier League this season.
