An unbeaten Chelsea travel to Burnley to face Sean Dyche’s side a week after their thrashing at the hands of Manchester City.

It almost seems unfair for Burnley to have to play another one of the big boys so soon after a visit to the Etihad and Sean Dyche will be hard at work figuring out how to stop Eden Hazard as well as Manchester United did at Stamford Bridge. Burnley are in desperate need of points to kick start their season and will need to use home advantage to get anything from this one.

Ross Barkley grabbed a point against Manchester United but it was the first time this season that Chelsea looked like the unfinished project that Maurizio Sarri has been telling everyone they are. That late equaliser will be a boost to the visitors though and Burnley could be in for a torrid afternoon.

Burnley’s early season Europa League campaign seems to have had an adverse reaction to their league form as they have looked nothing like the compact, hard to beat unit of last season. Back-to-back wins over Bournemouth and Cardiff seem like a long time ago now and this could prove to be a difficult campaign.

Chelsea have managed to get by – and succeed – this season without a goal scoring forward thanks to the performances of Eden Hazard. The Belgian captain was kept out of the game by Manchester United recently and will be relishing the chance to have a go at the Burnley defence. Chelsea to win this one 2-0.

Betting Tips

  • Chelsea to win to nil

Aside from their 4-0 win over Bournemouth, Burnley have found it difficult finding the net this season and Chelsea’s defence is unlikely to give them a helping hand.

  • Chelsea to win both halves

Chelsea should dominate this game right form the start and it would not be a surprise if they are much stronger than the home side in both halves.

Head to Head

Burnley have given Chelsea a good game since their return to the Premier League in 2014 and won at Stamford Bridge last season while losing the home fixture.

  • Eden Hazard may not have been involved in the United match as much as he would have liked but he is still the Premier League’s top goal scorer with seven so far this season.
  • Joe Hart has definitely been busy since his move to Turf Moor and he has now produced more saves than any other keeper in the Premier League this season.
  • Having three of the top four passers of the ball in the league seems to reflect Chelsea’s style of play. Jorginho, Rüdiger and David Luiz have all made over 680 passes each.
  • Burnley’s season started early with Europa League qualifying matches at the end of July. It was the Turf Moor club’s first European campaign in 51 years.
