Tottenham can confirm a top four spot this season with victory over a Bournemouth side who have failed to win at home in the Premier League since January.

In a top four race that no one seems to want to win, Tottenham can finally book their place in Europe’s elite for next season with a win over an unpredictable Bournemouth side.

Although the Champions League may be a route to the competition next season, Mauricio Pochettino’s Lilywhites look in pole position to ensure they do not have to win the tournament in order to qualify for next season with at least fourth place in the bag come Saturday night.

However, for their opponents Bournemouth, this season has been a tale of two halves.

Exemplary up until the beginning of November when a charge for a European spot looked well on the cards, to a second half collapse that has seen Eddie’s Howe’s charges claim just two wins in their last 12 Premier League games.

It is no surprise to learn then that the away side are in pole position with popular sportsbooks to pick up all three points, even though Spur’s recent away record in the league is dire with five straight defeats.

Bournemouth have conceded nine against Spurs in their last two meetings, including conceding four the last time Tottenham visited the South coast.

The only saving grace for the Cherries is that the fixture is sandwiched between Tottenham’s two-legged Champions League affair but based on recent records for Bournemouth and their head top heads, a 3-1 routine win looks on the cards for Tottenham.

Head To Head

In the reverse fixture, the Lilywhites went on the rampage thumping five past a hapless Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

The last time Spurs headed to the Vitality Stadium things weren’t much better with a Son Heung-min double helping Tottenham to a 4-1 win.

Overall, Bournemouth have claimed just one win over the Lilywhites whilst Tottenham boast six victories and a single draw recorded between the two.

  • If Tottenham win, they will be guaranteed a top four finish.
  • Bournemouth have failed to win a home game since the end of January.
  • Bournemouth won the first ever meeting between the two 3-1 in a 1957 FA Cup tie.
