Best matches of the week

Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens

Tip –The Montreal Canadiens are fighting for their playoff lives as they look to get back to the postseason where anything can happen. On Tuesday night, they welcome the struggling Detroit Red Wings to town. The Canadiens are battling for a Wild Card spot and will be coming into this contest knowing it is a must-win for them. As a result, expect to see the home side get the job done in what could be quite the entertaining affair.

Chicago Blackhawks at Toronto Maple Leafs

Scotiabank Arena

Toronto Maple LeafsToronto Maple Leafs

Tip –The Chicago Blackhawks pay a visit to Scotiabank Arena to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in a midweek contest. The visitors find themselves well outside the playoff picture and with very little to play for at this point of the season. Toronto on the other hand are trying to leapfrog the Boston Bruins for home ice advantage in the opening round of the playoffs. The Maple Leafs have been solid on home ice this season and will like their chances against Chicago on Wednesday evening. Both the Maple Leafs and the over would be worth sprinkling some money in any of your favourite Canadian bookmaker.

Florida Panthers at San Jose Sharks

San Jose Sharks San Jose Sharks

Tip –The Florida Panthers have been abysmal on the road this season, winning just 12 of their first 33 games away from home. They will have an even more daunting task playing the Sharks in San Jose and could be in for a long night on Thursday evening. The Sharks are battling with the Calgary Flames for top spot in the Pacific Division and should cruise to a victory on home ice.

Nashville Predators at Los Angeles Kings

Tip –The Nashville Predators have seen their odds to win the Stanley Cup drop quite dramatically as the season has progressed. Bodog Sports currently has them at +1500 with eight other NHL teams ahead of them. However, they still find themselves fighting with the Winnipeg Jets for first place in the Central Division and have a solid road record. Take them to crush the worst team in the Western Conference by multiple goals on all relevant betting sites.

Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs

Scotiabank Arena

Tip –The Toronto Maple Leafs host the Philadelphia Flyers in a rare Friday home game for the buds. While the Flyers have climbed up the Eastern Conference standings in recent weeks in large part due to solid goaltending, they still find themselves outside the playoff picture. After upsetting the New York Islanders in an impressive 5-2 win on Saturday night, they enter the week having won four straight contests. Despite this though, they will be in tough at Scotiabank Arena against a Maple Leafs’ side that has won 21 of their first 34 games at home this year. The home side would still be a wise bet on Friday on all bookmakers, but the under may also be worth sprinkling some money on as well.

Edmonton Oilers at Vegas Golden Knights

>Vegas Golden KnightsVegas Golden Knights

Tip –The disappointing Edmonton Oilers have a date with the Golden Knights in Vegas on St. Patrick’s Day this year, as they continue to play for pride. Despite having the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in their squad, the Oilers won’t be playing any playoff hockey again this year. Vegas on the other hand, are cruising to their second consecutive postseason appearance and are hoping to make another deep run. They have been terrific at T-Mobile Arena this season, picking up points in 25 of their first 35 games at home. Expect them to take both points on Sunday evening as well, with the Oilers already looking ahead to next year.
