Betting Tips – Week 20 of the NHL’s Season 2018- 2019

Best matches of the week

New York Islanders at Buffalo Sabres

Buffalo SabresBuffalo Sabres

Tip –The Buffalo Sabres have not been the same team we saw through much of the first half of the season, as they slowly slip out of the playoff picture. They had exceeded expectations early on but have not been great as of late – despite a 5-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. On the other hand, the New York Islanders are continuing to shock the NHL by sitting atop the Metropolitan Division and playing excellent hockey. The Sabres will also be playing their third game in four nights on Tuesday evening, so the Islanders are looking like a lock on all relevant betting sites.

Vancouver Canucks at Anaheim Ducks

Tip –The Anaheim Ducks may be the worst team in the NHL currently. They have been abysmal recently, losing seven games in a row which led to head coach Randy Carlyle being fired on Sunday. While the Vancouver Canucks haven’t been the most dominant team either, they should be able to escape Anaheim with two crucial points in hand. Starting goaltender John Gibson was also out injured in the Ducks’ last game against the Philadelphia Flyers which is terrible news for the club as he has been one of the few bright spots. Take the visitors to cruise in this one.

Toronto Maple Leafs at Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas Golden KnightsVegas Golden Knights

Tip –The Toronto Maple Leafs have a Valentines date with the Golden Knights in Vegas on Thursday. While the Maple Leafs have the better hockey team overall, Vegas has been a completely different club at home than on the road. They have picked up points in 19 of their first 25 games at T-Mobile Arena and have been extremely difficult to play against. Toronto must play the Avalanche in Colorado on Tuesday evening and could struggle playing their third consecutive game in a different time zone against the Golden Knights. Take the home team and the over on your favourite betting sites.

Washington Capitals at San Jose Sharks

Tip –In what could be a preview of the Stanley Cup final, the Washington Capitals pay a visit to the SAP Center to take on the San Jose Sharks. San Jose has been fantastic at home all season long and will be looking to prove a point against the defending Stanley Cup Champions on Thursday evening. It’ll be Washington’s first game of a three-game road trip to California and they may not be fully adjusted to the Pacific time zone yet. Expect a high scoring affair that should see this game go over and take the home team to get the job done in regulation.

Ottawa Senators at Winnipeg Jets

Tip –There is a lot of turmoil around the Ottawa Senators these days ahead of the trade deadline and whether they will be trading their biggest stars Mark Stone and Matt Duchene before February 25th. Despite their win against Anaheim, they are not a very good team and will struggle against a true Stanley Cup contender on the road. Even with Patrick Laine having difficulties finding the back of the net in recent weeks, the Jets should have no issues dismantling their opponents on Saturday evening.

Tip –With the Ducks playing so poorly at the moment, they will not be looking forward to hosting Alexander Ovechkin and company on Sunday evening. The visitors will be well rested ahead of this one having been off since Thursday night and will be hoping to take advantage of a wounded Anaheim side. This should be an easy two points for the defending Stanley Cup champions as they continue the fight for top spot in the difficult Metropolitan Division. The over may also be worth laying some money on.
