Betting Tips – Week 18 of the NHL’s Season 2018- 2019

Best matches of the week

New Jersey Devils at Pittsburgh Penguins

PPG Paints Arena

Pittsburgh PenguinsPittsburgh Penguins

Tip –Following the All-Star break, the New Jersey Devils head to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins for a Metropolitan Division showdown. The Devils sit last in the division, largely due to their horrendous road record. With just five wins away from home all season, the Devils have been a welcomed opponent for any home team. With the Penguins fighting for a playoff spot, expect to see a desperate Pittsburgh’ side come out flying. Take the home team and the over on relevant betting sites.

Winnipeg Jets at Boston Bruins

Winnipeg JetsWinnipeg Jets

Boston BruinsBoston Bruins

Tip –The Winnipeg Jets have been a joy to watch this season and one of the best teams in the entire NHL. However, they head to Boston to play the second half of a back-to-back that sees them take on the Flyers in Philadelphia the night before. Not exactly the most ideal way to return from the All-Star break. The Bruins have a stellar home record, winning 17 of their first 25 games at TD Garden. Go with Boston to take two points on home ice.

Philadelphia Flyers at New York Rangers

Philadelphia FlyersPhiladelphia Flyers

Madison Square Garden

New York RangersNew York Rangers

Tip –Much like Winnipeg, the Philadelphia Flyers will also be in action on both Monday and Tuesday night. However, the Flyers do not have the depth nor skill that the Jets do though and will struggle in New York at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers have not been great this year, but have a solid home record and will be viewing this as a must-win in order to mount a serious playoff push. Kevin Hayes is also expected to be back on Tuesday night, which will provide the home side with a much needed boost. New York should cruise to a victory in this one.

Toronto Maple Leafs at Detroit Red Wings

Little Caesars Arena

Detroit Red WingsDetroit Red Wings

Tip –We saw a desperate Toronto team in their last game before the All-Star break against the Washington Capitals and they earned a much needed two points. In their first game back after being out of action for more than a week, expect much of the same as Toronto is starting to feel pressure at the top of the Atlantic Division. Detroit has been better at home than on the road, but still have a losing record at Little Caesars Arena. A well-rested Maple Leafs team should have no issues finding the back of the net multiple times throughout the evening and brushing aside the Red Wings. The visitors and over both look like locks through various bookmakers.

St. Louis Blues at Columbus Blue Jackets

Columbus Blue Jackets Columbus Blue Jackets

Tip –The Blue Jackets welcome the struggling St. Louis Blues on Saturday night in what should be an easy contest for the home side. The Blue Jackets have a stellar home record and will relish the opportunity against an inferior opponent. They need all the points they can in a difficult Metropolitan Division and should have no problems taking on a disappointing St. Louis side. The Blue Jackets will have been off since Tuesday and will be well-rested ahead of this one. Take the home side and the under.

Calgary Flames at Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina HurricanesCarolina Hurricanes

Tip –The Calgary Flames make the cross-continental trip to take on the Carolina Hurricanes. The Flames have been outstanding all season long, both at home and on the road. Despite the time change, they will like their chances against Carolina who has not lived up to expectations this season. They sit on the outside looking in of the playoff picture, while Calgary tries to stay atop of the Pacific Division. Expect the visitors to pick up a big win on the road in a rare matinee affair for them.
