MEM Grizzlies at LA Clippers

LA ClippersLA Clippers

Tip – This may be the most shockingly important game to this point of the season. Both Memphis and LA are top four teams in the Western Conference. Memphis is riding a four game win streak. LA has had their fair struggles in defending oppositions’ point guards, surrendering an average of 26 ppg in their last three games to said position. Mike Conley is near 20 ppg scorer, and coming off a 28-point outing on Monday.

HOU Rockets at DET Pistons

Tip – It seemed odd to place all the blame on the team’s early struggles solely on the shoulders Carmelo Anthony, but that’s exactly what they did. Scapegoat or not, Houston has gone 4-1 since Melo’s departure, and 4-0 in as many games. Blake Griffin has been outstanding for Detroit this season, but Houston’s top defender PJ Tucker will likely tame Griffin’s stat output. James Harden has been on a tear as of late, except MVP Harden on Friday night. Detroit should, and will, fear the beard.

CHA Hornets at OKC Thunder

OKC ThunderOKC Thunder

Tip – Kemba Walker has been insane as of late, totalling a whopping 103 points in just the past two games. With no signs of cooling down, Kemba should continue his tear on the league come Friday night. OKC will be only two days removed from a matchup with Golden State, which, for obvious reasons, is a highly emotional contest for them. If Michael Kidd-Gilchrist can return to the lineup in time for this matchup, his length will cause major issues for Paul George on the offensive end.

SA Spurs at IND Pacers

Tip – Pacers are on a three game winning streak. Bojan Bogdanovic has been a complete revelation for Indiana this year. Bojan leads the league in three point percentage, and the combination of him and the team’s leading scorer, Victor Oladipo, will be too much for a fading Spurs team to keep pace with. San Antonio has dropped four out of their last five games, most recently surrendering a massive 140 points on Monday.

ORL Magic @ DEN Nuggets

DEN NuggetsDEN Nuggets

Tip – The Magic are quietly, a highly improved, and impressive team. They have won five out of their last seven games, and although it was a loss, they went down to the wire in defeat to the East’s best, Toronto Raptors 93-91 on Tuesday. Denver has had their fair share of struggles when it comes to defending versatile big men. Orlando runs their offense through versatile big men. The Magic may very well enter Denver under the radar, and leave as a team to be reckoned with.

POR Trail Blazers at GS Warriors

Tip –At this point it’s pretty clear that Portland, not Golden State is the best team in the West. Golden State is on a three game losing streak, and riddled with new drama filled stories almost daily, since the Draymond/KD fiasco. To pile on, Steph Curry will not suit up for this matchup. Look for Portland’s star-studded backcourt, Lillard and McCollum, to attack Curry’s replacement, on their way to a big victory over the Warriors.
