Tip – Why hello college basketball fans, and may I welcome you to déjà vu. For the second time in two years, FSU will face off with Gonzaga in the Sweet 16. Both teams share a similar formula, by running their offense within the arc. Gonzaga is, simply put, a better version of FSU. The Bulldogs lead the nation in 2-pt shooting percentage, which in return allowed them to also be the highest scoring unit in the country. While FSU has impressed in recent weeks on their way to an 8-1 SU record, they’ve been below .500 ATS during that same span. Gonzaga has lost just one game over their last 24 contests, while covering the spread in 15 of those games.

Tip – The Ducks are the closest thing to a Cinderella left in the dance. Oregon may be the hottest team in college basketball as we sit here today. They are undefeated SU/ATS in their last ten contests, and won by an average score of 18.5 points in the first two rounds of the tournament. The total is currently set at 119 points, which is a whole lot for two teams who do not strike fear in their opponents thanks to their offensive prowess. In fact, Virginia allows the fewest points in college basketball. Combine Virginia’s past 12 games with Oregon’s last ten, and only eight of the 22 total contests have hit the OVER.

Tip – LSU has shocked many by getting to the Sweet 16, thanks to a few nail biters in the earlier rounds. Despite those victories, betting site odds are still against the Tigers, as they have gone winless ATS in their last three contests. Michigan State on the other hand, has covered five of their last seven games. The Tigers’ defense could be a huge liability vs. the Spartans, as LSU allows the 114th worst shooting percentage to opponents in all of college basketball.

Auburn Tigers vs. North Carolina Tar Heels

Tip – With Duke nearly being eliminated at the hands of UCF in their last game, the Tar Heels have cemented themselves as the most impressive unit of the tourney to this point. They’ll have their hands full vs. an Auburn unit that has hit 25 three pointers through the first two rounds of March Madness. Still, North Carolina is superior to anyone Auburn has faced off with during their ten game win streak. The Tar Heels out rebound opponents by more than 11 boards a game this season. North Carolina will dominate the Tigers on the boards, eliminating second chance opportunities from the arc for Auburn.

Tip – If UCF showed us anything in round two, it’s that the Blue Devils aren’t invincible. Problem is, now Duke is also aware of this, and a Blue Devils team playing with a 110% effort won’t bode well for Virginia Tech’s Elite 8 dreams. VA Tech could hang their hats on the fact that they defeated Duke earlier in the season, but that was with Zion Williamson out of the lineup. Duke is 28-2 SU when Zion plays, and he’s seemed to only up his caliber of play during the tournament. Zion has missed just 12 shots from the field, on his way to a combined score of 57 points through two games. To add on to Duke’s excellence, they are the 13th ranked team in college basketball at defending the three point shot. The Hokies are just 3-7 in their last ten contests vs. Duke.
