The bitter North London derby lights up the weekend with Arsenal and Tottenham riding the crest of wave determined to break the others resolve.
Pride, passion, desire, rivalry – just four words that mean so much in the battle between Arsenal and Tottenham over the years and with the pair both on impressive runs of form, defeat could be a defining moment for either of these two.
Spurs come into the match ending Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the Premier League and will be eager to end Arsenal’s 17 unbeaten stretch in all competitions this season as the pursuit of a top four berth for both managers continues.
The last few years it is the Lilywhites who have managed to edge the ascendancy over their North London rivals after so many years in their shadows but in the derby, it is relatively level pegging.
That makes this game a difficult affair to predict but considering the pair have a now found belief and there is a history of sharing the spoils (three in a row from November 2015 to November 2016) another entertaining stalemate looks the prediction in this one with 1-1 the best bet.
- The draw and both teams to score
You have to go back to February 2009 for the last goalless draw between these two but there has however been five score draws since then including three of the last six meetings between the two.
To add weight to this Arsenal have also played out four draws in their last six.
- Under 2.5 goals
You may be forgiven for thinking we are mad as two attacking sides collide but actually when these two meet goals are NOT in abundance.
This bet would have been a winner in five of the last six meetings and you have to go back to 2012 for the last time one of these two put more than two past their opponent.
