Arsenal look to end their horrendous run of form and beat Chelsea and Manchester United to the final Champions League spot.

It was looking so good for Arsenal – closing in on fourth place in the league and a Europa League semi-final coming up. But three successive defeats – with an aggregate score of 3-9 – has drained the confidence of the Gunners fans. Brighton at home should be three points for Unai Emery’s side but recent performances suggest this could be closer than previously anticipated.

Chris Hughton may have just about got Brighton safe once again – depending on how Cardiff do in their final two games – but the fans are not happy with the way the side are playing. A draw at home against Newcastle puts all the pressure on the South Wales club in the relegation battle but the Seagulls need to play better next season to stay up.

The race is still on for Champions League qualification but sports betting sites may now think that winning the Europa League as the safer bet for them to make it to the big competition next season. But Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will want to do his best to win the Golden Boot so hopefully there will be a few goals in this one.

Brighton may have scored fewer goals than games played this season but they also have the best defensive record of any of the clubs around them at the bottom of the table – and Hughton would point to that as a success. This could be tricky for the Seagulls though and it could end up 3-0 to Arsenal.

Arsenal to win to nil

The bookies don’t fancy Brighton to get anything from this.

Arsenal may have trouble winning games recently but this may be the game when the goals come back.

Head To Head

Arsenal have enjoyed playing Brighton over the years but the Seagulls were able to pick up a point in a 1-1 draw at the Amex earlier this season.

  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still gunning for the top goal scorer award – only Mo Salah, Sergio Aguero and Sadio Mane have more Premier League goals this season.
  • Brighton have hardly been prolific in front of goal this season. Only Cardiff and Huddersfield have scored fewer – even relegated Fulham have found the net on more occasions.
  • Arsenal have now lost four of the last five Premier League games and have dropped from third to fifth in the table.
