Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat 21st Match Squad Comparison
It was heartbreak for Ashton Turner’s in the last game. To lose a game by a single run on the last ball can surely demoralize any side. But the Scorchers have been through more downs than ups this season and have looked nowhere close to the table toppers they were last season. Of the five games that the side has played in this season so far they have won only once against Adelaide Strikers. It is now a must win situation for the team and they are playing to stay alive in the tournament. Turner would hope his side emerges winners in the next game against Brisbane Heat who are at the bottom of the table.
Michael Klinger has looked rock solid as an opener but he has had as many as three partners in the previous games something which the Scorchers must settle immediately. Cameron Bancroft after all that has happened to him is suffering a confidence problem. Aston Agar isn’t looking good but Ashton Turner found form in the last game and the side needs more from its top order in the upcoming game. Bowlers have done well so far apart from their strike bowler Andrew Tye who is having a bad run. Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Agar would have to bowl well like they have done so far for the side to win the upcoming game.
The tournament has already started to look miserable for Brisbane Heat. Chris Lynn’s team are at the bottom of the table and after playing three games they are still looking for their first win. What would upset the captain and the players most is the fact that they haven’t even come close to victory in any of the games. While they have batted decently and even bowled well the side has failed to go for the kill. A play-off berth already looks remote for the side and a loss in the upcoming game might just seal their fate for the season. Lynn has to charge his men up to win the next game.
Max Bryant has looked good in all the games so far but his opening partners haven’t been able to support him well. Sam Heazlett failed in the last game as Brendon McCullum did in the previous two games. Chris Lynn is in great form but the rest of batsmen including Ben Cutting and Joe Burns have led the team down and the skipper would expect them to play with more conviction in the next game. Bowlers haven’t performed badly in any of the games but their efforts haven’t been enough to seal a win. Josh Lalor and Mujeeb Ur Rahman bowled in the last game. Mitchell Swepson and Ben Cutting have also done well and all it requires is a complete team effort from the side to win the next game.
Our Prediction for Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat
Perth Scorchers will win this game
It hasn’t been the situation that Brisbane Heat would have expected at the start of Big Bash 2018-19. They are fighting for survival as they take on Perth Scorchers in their next game. They have lost all their games so far and are desperate for a win. Scorchers on the other hand have also had their struggles and managed a single win in their four games played so far. But as they play at home the Perth Stadium they would surely be confident about their chances and want to win this one. There isn’t much that separates the two teams at the moment and it should be a great contest on a fast and bouncy WACA wicket.
Perth Scorchers are playing at home and are in better state of mind than their opponents and thus they would start as favorites in the next game in a cricket betting sense as well.
