Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Final Match Squad Comparison

Melbourne Renegades

Aaron Finch would be extremely happy with the performance his side has put up so far which has earned them a place in the final of Big Bash League for the first time. They have had a great tournament as far as consistency is concerned apart from the hiccups in early part of the season when they were missing some of their key players. Finch’s men would feel the pressure playing in front of their home crowd and having done all the hard work so far they wouldn’t want to mess it up now. Having lost the two previous games to Stars Finch would want to make sure that his side doesn’t repeat the same mistakes for the third time this season.

They have a great combination up the order with Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris having scored runs in the season. It is the final and both of them would be eager to make their contributions. Sam Harper is looking in great form and Cameron White’s return strengthens the batting for the side. With Mackenzie Harvey, Tom Cooper and Daniel Christian the side bats deep which will give them an advantage in a high pressure game. The Renegades bowlers have done well this season especially Kane Richardson and Cameron Boyce. Daniel Christian, Chris Tremain and Harry Gurney make a strong bowling line-up that won’t make it easy for the opponents.

Melbourne Stars

Glenn Maxwell’s team couldn’t have made a better statement in their march to the finals of this season’s BBL. They defeated Sydney Sixers in the last league game to earn a last minute qualification into the play-offs and demolished Hobart Hurricanes in the semi-finals. The team which was suffering from poor form at one stage of the tournament now looks all set to put up its best performance together. Maxwell’s side has played a final before in 2015-16 and lost that one and they would surely like to put that setback behind and bring home the title for the joy and jubilation of their fans.

The opening pair of Marcus Stoinis and Ben Dunk has had their ups and downs in the tournament and would be looking to stitch together a perfect partnership for the big game. It is in the middle order that the side is really strong with Peter Handscomb, Nic Maddinson and Glenn Maxwell looking in great touch at the moment. Seb Gotch and Dwayne Bravo are the perfect people to have in the finishers’ role for the side. Their bowlers are looking good especially Daniel Worrall and Sandeep Lamichhane. Maxwell, Adam Zampa, Stoinis and Bravo bring the right variety to the attack which should help them win this one.

Our Prediction for Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars

Melbourne Stars are favorites to lift the Big Bash League 2018-19 Title

After 58 competitive games played over six-weeks where heroes were born and hearts were broken we have the two finalists for Big Bash League 2018-19. It will be a Melbourne derby as Melbourne Renegades will take on their city rivals Melbourne Stars at their home ground Docklands Stadium. Neither of the sides has ever won the title though Melbourne Stars lost the final in 2015-16. Stars might feel they have the upper hand having won the two league games against Renegades this season but that would count very little on the day of the high-voltage encounter. Both the sides are in great form and this will make it an interesting contest to watch out for. Expect great odds in the live betting markets offered on top betting sitesduring in-play.

Melbourne Stars have peaked at the right time in the season and having defeated Melbourne Renegades twice before in the season. From a cricket betting perspective, they would start ahead of Renegades and are favourites to win the Big Bash League 2018-19.
