Lakers vs Nuggets: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Wednesday, November 27th, 2018, 13:00 Pm
While the Nuggets sit in third place in the Western Conference, and the Lakers at 7th, only 1.5 games separate them.
The Nuggets are coming off a huge seven point victory over Oklahoma City, putting them .5 game over the Thunder, and slotting them in third place in a highly contested Western Conference. Jamal Murray was a driving force in Denver’s victory on Saturday night, and for his team’s current win streak. Murray is coming off a 22-point game, while averaging 18+ points, 6-rebounds, and nearly 7-assists in his last four games.
The Lakers saw their three game win streak come to an end over the weekend, as they lost to the Orlando Magic for the second time in eight days. Still, the Lakers are a highly improved team with the arrow pointing up. Kyle Kuzma added 21 points on Sunday, while Brandon Ingram is quickly coming into his own on the offensive end. Ingram is averaging nearly 16 points and 5 rebounds on the season, while also acting as a pseudo point guard when the Lakers decide to go big.
Denver’s starting five is one of the best, and most well rounded, units in all of basketball. No Nugget averages more than 18 points on the season, yet four players average at least 16.5. Denver will continue to run their offense through their big man, Nikola Jokic. Jokic is third on the team in scoring, and first in assist (7.2), rebounds (9.9) and steals (1.4). Denver will feed Jokic the ball in the post against the inconsistent JaVale McGee. McGee will be looking for defensive help, and when the help comes, Jokic will hurt LA with his incredible vision as a passer. Jokic will find his teammates behind the arc for easy catch-and-shoot situations come Tuesday night.
Score prediction: Nuggets win 114-110
- Los Angeles Lakers at Denver Nuggets: Take Nuggets (SU)
Los Angeles has improved in their post defense thanks to the acquisition of Tyson Chandler. Yet, neither Chandler nor McGee is quick footed enough to stay with Jokic and his plethora of post moves. The inconsistence of Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball as scoring threats will be too much to overcome against so many scoring options for Denver.
- Over/Under 215.5 points: Take the Under
Denver is the third ranked defense in terms of points surrendered on the season. Los Angeles has averaged only 104 points in their past three games, including a 90 point outing on Friday.
Head to Head
These two teams have faced off a whopping 173 times in the regular season, with Los Angeles holding a clear advantage over Denver in the win column. Los Angeles has won 105 games to Denver’s 68. Los Angeles defeated Denver in October of this season, by the score of 121-114.
