FC Krasnadar vs Bayer: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds

German heavyweights Bayer Leverkusen head to Russia looking to replicate their group form in the Europa League knockout stages.
May of the top bookmakers will side this game in favour of German side Bayer Leverkusen and it is not hard to see why.
In the group stages Leverkusen scored twice the number of goals than their opponents Krasnodar (16 -8) as well as topping their group with 13 points.
However, do not be too hasty to dismiss the Russians as Krasnodar proved a challenging opponent with Murad Musayev’s men level on points with Sevilla at the top of Group J with 12 points.
There is one problem though for the Bulls and that is a lack of goals. Just eight were scored leaving a huge goal difference to their Spanish rivals, hence why they ended the group in second and not first.
That is an area Bayer will look to take advantage of especially as you have to go back to the middle of December for the last time Bayer conceded more than once in a match in the Bundesliga.
Krasnodar are also at the end of the Russian winter break which may prove to either a positive or negative effect.
Unfortunately for them, it is likely to be negative as Bayer are not to far off the back of their break but have competitive games and momentum under their belts.
First leg ties are often cagey affairs, and this will be no different, however, with Krasnodar’s lack of goals and Bayer’s reasonably solid defence of late and goal scoring prowess, back the German’s to take a 2-0 lead back to the BayArena.
- Under 2.5 goals
Remarkably the Russians have only conceded more than twice in a game once in all competitions this season. However, with just eight goals in the group stages do not expect a goal-fest from them either with evens proving a great bet the best betting sites for value.
- No to both teams scoring
As mentioned above, Krasnodar managed just eight goals in their group campaign and come into the match with no competitive games under their belt since December.

Head to Head
This will be the first ever meeting between the two, however, both sides have competed against sides from their opposition’s nation.
Krasnodar’s record against German opposition stands at one win and five losses whilst Bayer Leverkusen have registered four wins, two draws and three losses to Russian sides.
- Bayer Leverkusen famously won the UEFA Cup in 1988.
- Krasnodar earned their place in the last 32 after finishing runner up in Group J despite securing the same number of points as winner Sevilla.
- Bayer breezed through to the latter stages after topping Group A
- Krasnodar have not played a competitive fixture since losing to Sevilla in the group stages in December due to the Russian winter break.
- Krasnodar have lost five of their six encounters with sides from Germany.
