Belgian Grand Prix – Betting tips, Odds & Predictions

Belgian Grand Prix
Formula 1, Belgian Grand Prix. Spa-Francorchamps circuit

The Belgian Grand Prix has a knack for throwing up a few surprises. That’s partly due to the unpredictable weather conditions, which can even vary on different parts of the track. In 2018, it saw off some of the most technically gifted drivers, Daniel Ricciardo, Kimi Raikkonen, Charles Leclerc, Fernando Alonso, and Niko Hulkenberg all recording DNFs.

Our Betting Tips

While he hasn’t enjoyed a faultless last few months, the Brit has won a remarkable eight races already this season. He might not seem particularly good value, but many are going to be reluctant to put their money anywhere other than with the champion-elect.

Hamilton to win

The one thing that could hinder Bottas is continued speculation over his future. Mercedes are leaving him guessing whether he’ll be partnering Hamilton next season, the Silver Arrows hoping that sense of uncertainty will spur him on. The Finn knows Esteban Ocon is waiting in the wings and so he needs to enter the second half of the season strongly.

Bottas to finish inside the top 2

Having won two of the last three Grand Prixs, it is still that sense of consistency that is continuing to elude the Red Bull driver. If anyone is ready to capitalise should Hamilton slip up, it seems likely to be the Belgian-Dutch prodigy.

Verstappen to win

Best Odds

Head to Head

Hamilton has made it onto the podium in Belgium every year since 2014, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Rosberg, and Bottas finishing in the top three on that occasion.

Sebastian Vettel and Hamilton went toe-to-toe in the last two Belgian Grand Prixs, winning one each.

If Hamilton triumphs again, it will be the fifth time this season he has won back-to-back races.

  • With a time of 1:46.286, Bottas holds the record for the fastest lap at the Spa-Francorchamps
  • Vettel won a thrilling Belgian GP back in 2018, Ferrari’s late surge coming at Hamilton’s expense.
  • Hamilton, Bottas, and Verstappen are the only drivers to win a race so far this season.

Current standings:

  1. Lewis Hamilton – 250 points
  2. Valtteri Bottas – 188 points
  3. Max Verstappen – 181 points
  4. Sebastian Vettel – 156 points
  5. Charles Leclerc – 132 points

Our prediction for Belgian Grand Prix

Hamilton to win

Hamilton bounced back superbly with victory at Hungary after his nightmare in Germany. The current world champion has a knack for pulling it out of the bag just when doubts are beginning to creep in. As soon as cracks begin to show, he refuses to be broken and what’s more, he’ll be refreshed after a summer holiday.
