After winning  the Coleman Medal in 2018 as the AFL’s leading-goal-kicker, Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt could be excused for wondering why he hasn’t been declared as the outright favourite to win the title again in 2019.  Instead, he’s been quoted as a $19.00 outsider.

Perhaps best known for his antics after Richmond won the AFL Grand Final, Riewoldt has been joined this year at the Tigers by the best power forward in the AFL, the Tigers star recruit from the Gold Coast Suns, Tom Lynch.

Riewoldt is expected to play closer to the centre-of-the-ground and expertly feed Lynch the ball in good positions. It is Lynch who has been installed by popular betting sites as the one of the favourites at $9.00.

Lynch’s major rivals for the Coleman Medal in 2019 are;

  • Josh Kennedy – West Coast Eagles – $4.50
  • Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin – Sydney Swans – $5.00
  • Ben Brown – North Melbourne Kangaroos – $8.00 and;
  • Tom McDonald – Melbourne Demons – $13.00

Four-time Coleman Medal winner, Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin looms as the greatest threats to all-comers. The Sydney Swans superstar is still a dominant player, with the ability to kick goals from as-far-out as 70 metres. The young Swans midfielders around him are also gaining more experience in learning how to deliver Buddy the ball. A great bet for the Coleman Medal with betting sites at $5.00.

Best 2019 Brownlow Medal Outsiders

Biggest dangers to the favourites for the Coleman Medal are;

  • Tom Hawkins – Geelong Cats – $17.00
