After a dominant 2018 season from that saw him win the Brownlow Medal, Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell has been installed as the $6.50 favourite with Neds to repeat his win in 2019. (Even better odds of $7.00 can be found with Betstar and Bookmaker.com.au

Mitchell claimed the prestigious award as the AFL’s best player in 2018 by claiming 28 votes, ahead of Collingwood’s Steele Sidebottom on 24, while Melbourne’s Angus Bradshaw polled 21 and finished 3rd.

Mitchell won 848 disposals in 2018, including a record 54 touches in Round 1.

Mitchell’s major rivals in the 2019 market (and their best odds) are;

  • Dustin Martin ($7.00 Odds with Betstar or com.au)
  • Patrick Cripps ($13.00 Odds with Neds)
  • Nat Fyfe ($8.00 Odds with Neds) and;

In 2017, Richmond champion, Dusty Martin became the first player in the AFL history to claim the Brownlow/Norm Smith/Premiership treble in a single season, polling an incredible 36 votes on Brownlow Medal night in 2017, three more than 2016 Winner Patrick Dangerfield, who was ineligible in 2017 due to a dangerous tackle charge.

Fremantle’s 2015 Brownlow winner, Nat Fyfe, missed seven games in 2018 yet still managed to pile up 15 votes in 2018.
